Favorites included lefse, pies, banana bread, cookies, and homemade pizza on Sundays. Exercise was a daily routine for her, even up to the last month of her life. Marie’s love was also felt through her homemade cooking. She spent many hours sewing, including altering anything for anyone and embroidering dish towel sets as gifts. In her 71+ years of marriage to Roy, she enjoyed driving across the country visiting with many relatives and friends as his modern-day GPS (using pre-printed AAA paper maps), spending winters on snowmobile trips and time in Arizona, and many summers with family and friends camping at Strawberry Lake.Īfter putting her family first, Marie had many other interests and activities including sewing, exercising, cooking, baking, bowling, and serving and hosting others. She was an incredibly warm person, giving the best (long, strong) hugs, volunteering at church and supporting her grandchildren in all their events, never missing a chance to attend any of their activities. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, unwavering faith, the way she treated others, her “gift of gab,” and the love she had for her family. Marie was deeply devoted to her family and friends, who meant the world to her. ![]() Following graduation, Marie married the love of her life, Roy, on January 19, 1951, and together they made their home and started their family on the farm in Glyndon. ![]() She attended school and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1950. Marie was born October 21, 1930, in Ellsworth, WI, to Albert and Ruth (Carter) Christensen. ![]() Marie B. Tweten, 93, of Glyndon, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth, MN, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
